“You have done it again, Monica,” was the reaction of the furious supervisor to his clerk. You misspelled two words, even using a spelling checker. What time do you plan to make amends? “Here, fix this and put the report on my desk today.” The manager continued talking with an edgy tone, “While you clean up that mess, here’s four more pages that I’d like to type and put in while you’re working on it.”
Monica was distracted by the pile of papers her manager was throwing at her desk. She glanced up at the angry face of the manager looking down at her, and then she said in a shaky tone, “Nothing I do is satisfactory enough to satisfy you.” Whatever time I am there or how early I arrive, you will always discover something that isn’t right. I’m unable to meet all the requirements of your staff and be permitted to make mistakes. I think I’m not the right person for this position.” Monica started to collect the items at her desk in small piles to pack them.
You’re probably thinking, “I wouldn’t do this.” I’m sure that. The majority of people are aware of the different strategies that can be utilized to manage the issue of performance. There will be instances where a mistake could happen. Most of the time, lapses in mental judgment can be attributed to simply the stresses in the present.
Think about a straightforward strategy that I refer to as”the “Turkey Burger Technique.” This method can be employed inside and outside the office by any supervisor or manager who must give an essential correction to an employee member.
Why a Turkey Burger?
Turkey Burgers are not high in fat but taste delicious if they are adequately spiced. The way we approach an individual’s performance must be healthy. It is essential to minimize the risk of clogging their circulatory system with lots of fat. This can hinder work productivity over the long term.
Additionally, if we can reduce the fat, we will get to the level. We should avoid judging the person and instead deal with the actions.
DO It when it’s hot
If you take a look at the hot turkey burger freshly from the grill, you’ll observe that there is steam emanating through the meat. Food served hot, warm tastes better. It is the same when we give feedback. Feedback should be prompt. The only reason it could ever become cold is when you, the manager, are too hot at the moment.
THE FIRST LAYER OF PRAISE
This is not always straightforward. I would suggest you take a breath and identify a portion of the employee’s performance to applaud. For Monica in the scenario above, the supervisor could have stated. “I thank you for the effort you demonstrate by being late and coming in until midnight every day. ”
BUT? OR What if?
The majority of listening to”but” or “however. “but” or “however.” Try saying something different. For instance, ” I would like to know if there is an improvement that can be made using a portion of the outputs of typing. What can I do to help?
There’s a good chance that there are people who can create better ideas. I’m sure. The idea is to make an effort to create the correct words that lead us straight into the flesh.
THE BURGER
It is now the time to identify areas for improvement that are needed. Make sure you have the most recent documents or evidence of behavior that is unacceptable. Focus on your concerns regarding the behavior, not the individual.
Give them time to chew their hamburger. Allow them to discuss their opinions and thoughts about the actions you’ve displayed. Do active listening.
Thank you to the person who shared.
A TERRIFIC LADDER OF PRAISE
It is crucial to close the conversation by expressing your gratitude. Tell the person that you’re optimistic and are anticipating future changes.
Remember to focus on the benefits of your performance. If you end the meal on a positive note, you’ll end up getting the whole burger to be remembered for an extended period of duration… Monica’s manager might have stated, “Monica, I really appreciate your dedication to the company. I’m confident that we will together come up with ways to improve the working environment.”
In the end, why should a person not be able to think about what Pepsi and diet soda they consumed for lunch, and not the main meal (smile)?
WHOLE BUN of WHEAT SESAME SEED
I’d like to share a few remarks regarding the bread. I highly recommend whole grain.
Research in nutrition has confirmed how vital fiber can be in our food. Simple white bread won’t supply the fiber needed by our bodies in the same way as whole grains and seeds can.
Feedback from us should be beneficial for the person who receives it. It is hoped that it will be positive and remembered immediately. The information you take in will be a significant influence on the final performance!
Have Spaß!
