The last issue of Footprints and Monuments illustrated an analogy between leadership in facing disaster and the journey of Apollo 13. You’ll recall that an explosion on the ship led the crew to circle the moon, never landing on their desired destination. It’s clear that they didn’t get the desired ending to their journey through space. However, they returned back in good health, and they were thrilled about that.
This month’s issue is an extension of the previous month’s. We will discuss in depth the meaning of being an enthused team that is not willing to let go, a group that is always thinking outside the box and is focused on the desired future. The program will give you the skills and concepts to help you create your own ideal future. It will accomplish this through an additional parallel, stock car racing.
Stockcar racing is among my favourite sports and has been my favourite sport for almost all my existence. I’ve spent hours on a bleacher watching 43 racers race at speeds exceeding 200mph and all of them just inches away from one another. This is a sport that evolved from a group of moon-shiners displaying their “beefed up” automobiles to an industry worth millions of dollars filled with modern computerized technology. Between all the high-powered engines, quick turns and million-dollar earnings are some fundamental concepts to aid you in creating your dream future. Here are five of these fundamentals that were first discussed in terms used in racing and then adapted to your everyday life.
In the mind of a driver, the race must begin before he even gets to the track. Team members and the driver need to be mentally prepared to go through any challenge to be successful. This is the top priority, the No. #1 priority, the No. 1 goal: Win! It isn’t an option to lose!
To be able to be successful or to overcome the obstacles of your day, you need to be mentally ready. I’ve discovered that the mental preparation and success in my daily life comes from…
I am planning and preparing for the day ahead.
Looking for to get the best, however, being ready for most difficult.
Making sure to put God first in my daily routine, even between my scheduled appointments as well as chores.
Thinking outside the box – simply because you’ve never tried it before, doesn’t mean that you can’t or should.
Every racetrack is likely to be unique and have various difficulties to conquer; however, the team and the driver need to be aware of them before they can incorporate these into the configuration and configuration of their car. Making adjustments to the car for each racetrack is the single biggest challenge, week-in as well as week-out for each racer and crew. Each piece of equipment that is on the vehicle must be meticulously tested. The engine needs to be massaged with affection by every member of the team that performs work on it. When the green flag is raised at the end of Sunday, the car driver, car and team have to be as perfect as they can get.
The more we adhere to the goals we have set, the more successful we’ll be. If our priorities ensure that we are moving in the correct direction, Our plans are the instruments that need to be tweaked and examined using a fine-tooth comb. The old saying holds true, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fall.”
Track position is the primary to success when it comes to winning races. The key to establishing a track position is the risk. While the crew chief is able to keep the driver updated on what the car is capable of doing but knowing when and how to perform, it is left to the driver’s intuition. Passing an automobile that is travelling in the same way, is difficult. It requires the right mix of timing, experience on the track, and risks.
The track position of a racer is crucial to be in the proper place at the right moment in the real world. There is a saying, “It is not about what you know, but the person you know.” This could be the case; however, If you’re wrong in your spot at the right time, it doesn’t matter. Therefore, the question is, “How can you get to the right spot at the right time to profit upon an opportunity?” The solution, at the very least, in my opinion, is to concentrate on preparing for the possibility instead of constantly seeking out the chance. I think that if you are prepared enough, chances will come knocking you out. When you do get an opportunity, take advantage of it with a determination not to give up.
The practice of gaining time at the track but then returning it to the pits is among the best methods to avoid Victory Lane. The majority of pit stops require about 15 to 20 minutes and could only occur at least four or five times at a time; they could add up to the most important minute of three hours of racing.
The most important thing in your day is R&R Relaxation, rest and recreation. We live our lives in a state of hyper-speed with our hair burning, and we love every second of it. But pit stops are crucial to a successful life. Similar to racing, pit stops we make in our lives are limited and sporadic in quantity. However, they are crucial. As in racing, pit stops should be planned, well-planned, organized and efficient. The aim of each pit stop should be to refill our tanks, clean the air around us, and give us the strength enough to overcome the challenges of life.
If luck occurs when chance meets preparation, Bad luck happens when preparation meets chance. Most of the time, the vehicles involved in accidents actually didn’t do anything wrong. They simply happened to be in the wrong spot at the wrong moment (circumstance). It is normal that some amount of luck will occur in each race.
I don’t know about you, but this is a lot like my own life. I’ve found that terrible events can happen to people who are good, but that good luck can be found just as often. It is often our attitude and perspective towards things that make the difference. The following passage, which is taken from the James book James the life is full of ups and downs, yet every single thing can be utilized to our advantage.
James 1:2-5 –
2. It is pure joy, My brothers, when you have to face challenges of various kinds
3. Because you are aware that the test of your faith will build perseverance.
4. Perseverance has to be able to complete its work in order to become mature and complete without a flaw.
5. If anyone of you lacks the wisdom to make a decision, ask God to give generously to everyone without fault. it will be granted to him. (NIV)
Thank you for taking the time to read this article. I hope one or more of these tips will allow you to win your race right now and help you in creating your ideal future.
