Who is your master?
This might be misinterpreted if you don’t know what Expert, Content, and Value mean. We know their meanings, so we can understand that God is your master, and He decides who you serve in your company.
There’s always that marketing list of people who want to see what you have to offer. But the key is making sure that they all know you are the EXPERT.
You might be wondering how to prove your expert status. Let me take you through five fun and easy steps that will help you prove your competence in the field you have chosen.
Step 1 – Write a book.
Yes, I meant to write a book. It doesn’t matter what topic you choose to write about. But make sure it is relevant to your niche. It would be great if the book included a mention of your EXPERT title either in the title or in the sub-title. Your back cover should mention that you are the #1 expert in your field or profession. Give your readers solid reasons to believe that you are the expert.
Step 2 – Write 250 articles.
You are correct, my friend. There is a magic number. Until you have at least 250 articles that prove your place in the hierarchy of experts in your field, you will still be an amateur. Be an expert. Prove yourself worthy. Do the right thing. Write 250 articles to prove your expert status.
Step 3 – Guest post on relevant blogs
You can find blogs, websites, forums or discussion boards that allow you to participate, post guest posts, and share your wisdom and knowledge with others who are interested in learning more about you and what you do.
Step 4 – Talk about your topic of relevance.
It all started when I was a teenager, and I first spoke on the topic. They kept coming in the phone calls… They kept coming. Someone told someone they had seen me speak, and WOW! I became a celebrity overnight. Although I knew less than I did the day before, it was because I spoke publicly on my topic and someone saw me with another person that I suddenly understood what I was talking about. It was when a county commissioner from my hometown called me to get my advice. He’d heard that I had spoken at a trade fair on the subject. Do it. You’ll never regret it.
Step #5 – Write the Forward for Someone Else’s Book
Yeah, really. Ask around, and someone will tell you that you are the expert to write the forward for their book. You’ll be shocked at how much you can get from being associated with the words “Forward by”
Wow, what a deal!
You now know. These are the five steps to becoming an expert in your chosen field.
Bonus: If you read one book per week about your area of expertise, you will know more than someone who has been studying it for decades. This is because the information is fresh, and you are absorbing it like a sponge and then regurgitating it and applying it every day.
Are you ready to set yourself apart from the rest?
