The task of keeping your team motivated isn’t always easy. Here are a few ideas of how you can keep them motivated and keep them engaged.
1. Get Passionate!
In order to motivate others, you have to consider what drives you. Then, you must become excited!
Is there anything in our life that you care strongly about? It could be a passion or a sport you are passionate about. To be truly happy and be a part of it, You must be enthusiastic. If you discuss the subject with someone else, your face lights up, and you get excited. This can often draw others to the topic and prompt people to share their thoughts.
Passion originates from the heart and manifests as excitement, enthusiasm, and determination. The root of enthusiasm lies in the freedom of choice rather than the force of circumstance.
To encourage others, passion for the subject matter can spill onto them, so they can pick up on your passions. Advertising is passionate; sales language is often intense. It’s your turn now. The enthusiasm of others is infectious.
2. Find their Passion
After you’ve become passionate about yourself but what happens if that passion doesn’t match the passion of your coworker, friend of the staff… If you’re motivating others, you may need to organize your thoughts into the proper framework to match their passions. If you’re not sure what their passions are, then inquire. It is the same regarding goals. Your goals may differ from someone else’s, so you’ll have to find an approach to match your goals so that everyone is in the same situation.
Making them part of the solution, not being a part of the problem, can encourage them as well as you.
3. Be Honest and Integral
If you would like others to follow in your footsteps, be sure your integrity remains in good standing. It will be impossible to convince people to join without integrity. Consider the MPs expense scandal that occurred the year before. Integrity is a way to build trust. When there is no trust, it is hard to inspire people to follow. One of your duties as a leader is to build a reputation with integrity and trust by setting an example. Integrity is so essential and essential. Never compromise it.
4. Give Feedback
Be aware that employee motivation is a continual process, not a one-time off-the-job. Therefore any chance to boost this process needs to be taken advantage of. Feedback (particularly constructive feedback) is often tricky. However, it is essential for people to receive feedback in order to improve their skills and overcome blind spots. Utilizing feedback in a positive way can be a fantastic chance to think of innovative ways to encourage people. If you provide the correct feedback, people will come up with their own method of motivating themselves. Feedback is an excellent method of determining what they are.
5. Reward Positive Behaviour
In teaching killer whales how to run through hoops, it is impossible to critique the whale when it does not succeed. Therefore, trainers employ smaller pieces of food to help the whale to jump through the hoop while underwater. They slowly raise the hoop till it’s above the water, and the whale jumps out to take its fish. If you keep rewarding positive behavior and offering compliments instead of criticism, other people will respond with more enthusiasm to actions you’d like them to emulate. You can try it out for a few days and check out the reaction you get.
6. Rejoice in small wins
Do not forget to celebrate the small successes. It’s easy to get caught up in doing things only to forget to celebrate those times that something is successful. Include small victories in the plan and make sure that they are acknowledged.
Make sure to thank your customers. It seems so simple, yet it’s often neglected.
